How to offset challenges with connections

There are times in our life when we seem to ‘manage’ the stress, adversity and challenges that we are experiencing and at other times, we don’t cope as well.

The truth is, that we can’t control what happens to us, all we can do is control how we react to the curveballs and cannonballs that get thrown our way.

So how do we keep strong and sturdy in times when we are feeling pummelled by the world?

One of the most effective ways to offset the challenges that we are experiencing that we can’t control, is by surrounding ourselves with one, two (or five!) great humans that we feel we can really connect with.

Connection and a feeling of belonging matter more when times are tough.

Science tells us that having good connections has a positive impact on our physical, mental and social health – so choosing quality over quantity every time makes a difference when it comes to our connections.

Good people help us to unpack our troubles, listen to our stories, heal from our adversities and find our way forward. By finding the way forward, we build our resilience so we become a little more prepared and more confident the next time we are faced with a challenge.

So who is it that you can proactively connect with today?

Who do you know that could help offset your challenges due to the benefits of this connection factor?

Don’t wait till you have hit rock bottom. Continuously build and nurture your connections so you have people in your corner when you need them.
